Product Description

Titanium Hot-Rolled Composite Plate

Product Introduction:

Titanium Hot-Rolled Composite Plate is a high-performance bimetallic composite material, typically manufactured by hot rolling technology (or explosion bonding + hot rolling).

It integrates the excellent corrosion resistance of titanium with the high strength and cost-effectiveness of structural steel (carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel), achieving a perfect balance of performance and economy.

Advantages

1. Superior Corrosion Resistance

The titanium cladding layer (usually Gr1/Gr2 pure titanium) forms a dense, stable oxide film instantly, providing outstanding resistance to acids, alkalis, salts, seawater, and various corrosive media, far superior to conventional stainless steel.

2. High Bond Strength & Reliability

Hot rolling creates a metallurgical bond at the interface, with shear strength typically ≥ 196 MPa, far exceeding industry standards. It ensures no delamination during bending, stamping, or welding.

3. Cost Efficiency

Significantly reduces titanium usage compared to solid titanium plates, lowering material costs by 50%–70% while retaining titanium’s key performance.

4. Excellent Mechanical Properties

Inherits the high strength, rigidity, and weldability of the steel substrate, suitable for load-bearing structures.

5. Good Formability & Machinability

Supports cutting, bending, rolling, and welding, adapting to complex equipment fabrication.

6. Large-Scale Production Capability

Enables manufacturing of wide, long plates (width up to 3,500 mm) with uniform thickness and stable quality.

Manufacturing Process

1. Surface Preparation: Thoroughly clean and roughen titanium and steel plates to remove oxides and contaminants.

2. Assembly & Vacuum Sealing: Stack the titanium and steel plates, seal in a vacuum to prevent oxidation during heating.

3. Hot Rolling: Heat to 780–880°C (below titanium’s β-phase transition point) and roll with a large reduction rate (50%–70%) to achieve atomic diffusion and metallurgical bonding.

4. Post-Treatment: Controlled cooling, straightening, surface pickling, and polishing to ensure dimensional accuracy and finish.
