III. Processing Characteristics

1. Machining: Use carbide tools; low cutting speed (50–100 m/min), high feed rate, and ample cooling to avoid work hardening.

2. Forming: Poor cold formability; hot forming (700–800°C) is preferred for complex shapes.

3. Heat Treatment: Annealing (700–800°C, air cool) for general use; solution + aging (925°C solution, 500°C aging) for higher strength.
